About Us

The Friday Harbor Detachment is part of Flotilla 11 in Bellingham. We are a small but growing group interested in promoting boating safety through education, vessel safety checks, and safety patrols in the San Juan Islands. The focus of the Friday Harbor Detachment is on all aspects of member training. In particular crew, coxswain, and vessel safety examiner qualifications. Qualified personnel may have the opportunity to work directly with active Coast Guard personnel and participate in joint training exercises with the exception of law enforcement and military activities.
